Rajkumar was the DMK MLA of Perambalur from 2006 to 2011.
In 2012, Rajkumar and his friend Jaisinghar were charged with raping a 15-year-old girl who was allegedly raped.
The former MLA Rajkumar, his friends Jaisankar, Anubhura, Mahendran, Vijayakumar, Harikrishnan and Panneerselvam were also involved in the rape, sexual assault, death and the child protection law. This is followed by a former MLA. Rajkumar was arrested.
