In the Madhya Pradesh state assembly elections, the Congress Party has won 114 seats and is the single largest party. The BJP has won 109 seats, Samajwadi Party 1 and Bahujan Samaj Party 2 seats. The Independents won in 4 constituencies.

In Madhya Pradesh, support for 116 members is needed. The Congress party, which was close to the Majority, needed more support from the two. The Samajwadi Party and the Bahujan Samaj Party supported the Congress and got a substantial majority support. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh resigned from office.
