Sampanthan asked Mahinda for writing the Tamil issue

A major meeting was held between New Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and Tamil National Alliance Chairman R.Sampanthan.

This meeting was held at Wijerama House in Mahinda.

The current political situation in the country was discussed in detail. Mahinda said that he wanted the support of the 16 MPs of the Federation to prove majority in the parliament.

Sampanthan replied,

"We have decided to review our colleagues with our colleagues in support of supporting you only if you promised to write to the demands of the federation," he replied.

Former External Affairs Minister GL Peiris participated in this meeting.
