Local Offices: People have suffered a lot of difficulties due to the heavy downpour in the city of Colombo yesterday morning.The mountain started at around 2.30 pm and reached 5.30 pm. The Meteorological Department has reported that 122 mm rainfall has been reported in Colombo during last 3 hours.
Some of the roads, including Tummulla, Nitawas Mawatha, Hydraq, Horton Place, Chinz Road, Union Place and Baseline Road, have been drowned in water.
This has resulted in heavy traffic congestion. It is difficult for the people who have traveled home to work.
Meanwhile, the Department of Meteorology has noted that many parts of the country will resume tomorrow and tomorrow.
