Chandigarh:
Hamid Nihal Ansari (33) from Mumbai city. Ansari, a Pakistani girl, was arrested in 2012 on charges of crossing into Pakistani border via Afghanistan.
Ansari's case was filed in the Military Court of Peshawar for entry into their country without proper documents to spy on India.
In this case, he was sentenced to three years imprisonment for crimes entering Pakistan with false identity cards.
Following this, he was detained at Peshawar Central Jail on 15-12-2015. He was not released from prison after the sentence was completed.
The Peshawar High Court has refused to accept the description of Peshawar prisons officials who said that Ansari had not been released because of any documents submitted.
The Peshawar Court last August ordered that Ansarai be handed over to Indian authorities.
Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammed Faizal said that Hamid Nihal Ansari was released yesterday and the process of handing him over to Indian authorities has been announced.
In the meanwhile, Hamid Nihal Ansari, who was brought over the Wagah border in Pakistan's Punjab province, was handed over to Indian authorities today.
