Sri Lanka's government has denied bilateral defense cooperation agreement between the US and Sri Lanka.The United States expressed its willingness to sign an agreement with the Sri Lankan defense ministry to make a bilateral defense cooperation agreement with Sri Lanka.
In the draft submitted for this purpose, the creation of bilateral defense facilities, training, delivery, and regional security were included. This memorandum of understanding was drafted by the Sri Lanka Defense Secretary-led committee. It is reported that most of the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) have been rejected by the US.
