Netflix has unveiled a roster of nine titles for its licensed Tamil-language film slate in 2024.

Ajith Kumar takes the lead in Lyca Productions' "VidaaMuyarchi," directed by Magizh Thirumeni. Lyca Productions is also the force behind the highly anticipated "Indian 2," directed by S. Shankar and starring Kamal Haasan, a sequel to the 1996 blockbuster "Indian."

Vikram headlines Studio Green's "Thangalaan," directed by Pa. Ranjith, while Vijay Sethupathi stars in Passion Studios' "Maharaja," directed by Nithilan Saminathan. Keerthy Suresh plays the titular role in Passion Film Factory and The Route's "Revolver Rita," directed by K. Chandru. Dream Warrior Pictures' "Kannivedi," also featuring Suresh, is directed by Ganeshraj.

Sony Pictures International Productions makes its debut in Tamil cinema with "SK21," starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi. Produced by Sony, Kamal Haasan's Raaj Kamal Films International, and co-produced by God Bless Entertainment, with Haasan and R. Mahendran as producers, the film is directed by Raj Kumar Periasamy.

SNS Productions' "Sorgavaasal" stars RJ Balaji and is directed by Sidharth Viswanath. AGS Entertainment's "Conjuring Kannappan," directed by Selvin Raj Xavier and featuring Sathish, Regina Cassandra, and Nassar, is currently available for streaming on the platform.

These unreleased films are set to premiere on Netflix following their theatrical releases. Additionally, all films will be accessible in dubbed versions in the other three Southern Indian languages—Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada—and, in most cases, in Hindi for Northern Indian audiences as well.

The announcement of this lineup coincided with the Pongal festival holiday frame.

Monika Shergill, VP of Content at Netflix India, stated, "Adding to the festive cheer of Pongal, we are excited to share a promising lineup of blockbuster entertainment from the finest makers of the Tamil industry. Last year, films like 'Leo,' 'Thunivu,' and 'Maamannan' brought immense joy to our members in India and across the globe. The viewing of South content on Netflix has increased by 50% year-on-year, and with the addition of these new films, we promise to make every night a blockbuster night for our members."
